WEST BLOOMFIELD RESIDENT RECEIVES MACPA
DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD

TROY The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants
(MACPA) recently presented West Bloomfield resident Robert S. Sher,
CPA, with its Distinguished Service Award at the Association's
Awards and Past Chair Dinner on September 10, 2002, at The Ritz Carlton
Hotel in Dearborn. The Distinguished Service Award honors those
who have contributed significantly to the advancement of the CPA profession.
Sher is an executive business coach and CFO and partner with Schostak
Brothers & Company, Inc., in Southfield, where he is responsible
for financial management and the administration of the company.
An MACPA member since 1969, Sher is a former member of its Board of
Directors, a member of its Political Action Committee Board, the Members' Insurance
and Strategic Planning task forces and Regional Advisory Council. He
also was appointed as MACPA delegate to the National Future Forum working
on the CPA Vision Project.
Sher serves on the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' (AICPA)
Council and the AICPA Life Insurance Disability Plans Committee.
In addition, Sher is a guest lecturer for the University of Michigan
Business School, a former board member of Providence Hospital, as well
as a management consultant in the family-owned business arena. He is
a member of the West Bloomfield Planning Commission and an appointed
arbitrator of the American Arbitration Association.
He is a graduate of the Detroit Institute of Technology School of Business
Administration.
Also awarded the Distinguished Service Award was Mary E.
Kline-Cueter, CPA, Bloomfield Hills.
